Guiding you through stress, trauma, anxiety, and relationship growth: Suhaib Kutty
You see me now with a handpan, calm and grounded. But this wasn’t always my reality. For 17 years, I existed in the high-voltage environment of the corporate world.I wore “busy” like a badge of honor. I told myself I was just stressed, or perhaps I needed to upscale my talents. I normalized the anxiety until it became my baseline. But life has a tricky way of revealing your true nature.
Breath is the remote control of the nervous system. Through controlled rhythmic breathing, we shift from ‘fight or flight’ to ‘rest and digest’, preparing the vessel for healing gently restoring balance within.
The handpan creates frequencies that bypass the analytical mind. These vibrations penetrate the cellular level, releasing stored trauma and enabling deep states of awareness impossible to reach by thought alone.
I have been a percussionist for over 30 years, carrying rhythm in my bones. But eight years ago, a friend placed a handpan in my lap. It was unique. It wasn’t just a beat; it was a harmonic resonance. Initially a hobby, it soon became my medicine. I realized sound wasn’t just heard—it was felt by the body and the nervous system.
Each tone softened my breath and slowed my thoughts, as if the instrument were listening back—music becoming a quiet dialogue that restored balance and inner calm
